Get involved with the Teacup Project
Responsible Gemstone Traders is looking for Australian jewellers with a passion for creating a more sustainable and responsible gem and jewellery trade to become a part of our unique movement
What are we doing?
Responsible Gem Traders has at its heart, the championing of women miners and traders, their families and their stones. These women spend their lives in hard labour working with gemstones but they are excluded from markets and opportunities for value addition activities are limited.
Responsible Gem Traders has been created to address these issues. We hope to do this is through the teacup project and it's launch gala event.

Teacup Supply Chain
Responsible Gemstone Traders is currently in the process of setting up a supply chain to bring Teacup parcels into the global market. Each parcel will be accompanied with the story and details of the person or family who has suppled the gemstones. Not only that but each parcel will also come with the physical teacup the parcel was purchased in!
We are hoping to secure this supply chain and start supplying the trade in early 2021 so keep an eye on this space.
Teacup Gala
The teacup gala will give Australian jewellers the opportunity to purchase stones from the original Teacup and use them to create a unique piece of jewellery which will be sold at a gala auction event to be held in late 2021
Proceeds from the sale will enable Responsible GemTraders to support women miners through value addition training and new equipment. Most importantly we shall work toward market creation and global marketing of these unique stones and the stories of how they contribute to mining communities. Proceeds will also be used to provide work for women in continuing mined land rehabilitation efforts.
